6. Go to FILE, SAVE AS, click on SSA (SUBSTATION APLA)
Done
Step 2: Preparation for encoding
1. Open VirtualDubMod
2. Go to FILE, OPEN FILE, locate video
3. Go to VIDEO, (make sure you are in FULL PROCESSING MODE), click FILTERS
4. From FILTERS, press ADD, locate SUBTITLER and click OK
5. A box will pop up locate SSA file by pressing on the 3 DOTS (on right hand side)
6. Click OK
7. Go to VIDEO again, click COMPRESSION, select XVID codec and press CONFIGURE
Now the reason why we need to compress the movie because it will turn out too big if you dont compress it.
When you press configure you see a box. On the box there is the word TARGET QUANTIZER this is where you put in a number to control the size of the hardsub movie the smaller the number the bigger the output
example if you have a 700mb episode of a korean drama put in 2.3 because it will hardsub as/ around 800mb episode, still keeping its quality lower the number, in this case 2.3 if you want the movie to be bigger or make it higher to reduce the episode to a lower size. You dont need to increase the target quantizer that much to lower the output size by putting in ummmm 2.5 will make the file size be within the 700mb range already.
You get it?
Then press CALC..... which is next to the TARGET QUANTIZER NUMBER fill in the video's porperties of how long it is and the average bitrate and it should be enough (ps. i dont know if u need to do that or not but I do to make the compressing more accurate)
After all that press OK
Step 3: Hardsubbing TIME
1. Go to FILE
2. Press SAVE AS AVI......
and now you are done, just let the computer do its job.... depending on how long is the drama, it determines how long it would hardsub
Hardsubbing takes around the same time as the length of the drama. It seems like a long process but trust me after doing it once, it would be easy and you can do it much quicker..... only time is the esscence here
